instructors at valleybrook pilates

The instructors at Valleybrook Pilates are the cornerstone of our studio and are committed to providing specialized and appropriate instruction based on the individual needs of each and every client.

All of our Pilates instructors are comprehensively certified in the classical Pilates method or are in training to complete the process, which is a 600-hour program plus a written and practical test out.

We work closely with you, modifying workouts around your fitness level and any limitations you may have, moving you towards a goal of better health. Exercise as it should be.

“Not only is health a normal condition, but it is our duty to not only to attain it but to maintain it.” -Joseph Pilates

Kristin Bucci

Kristin Bucci’s pilates journey began in 1999 at Slippery Rock University’s Dance Department through her professors Jennifer Keller & Ursula Payne. Upon graduation, Kristin continued her dance career both teaching & performing in all 50 states & also internationally in Portugal, Spain, the Canary Islands, Peru, Panama, Mexico, & Puerto Rico. On her final tour dancing with Sesame Street Live! she sustained a back injury that lead her to both physical therapy and Pilates. After a few sessions of Pilates, Kristin found her pain was cut in half. She enjoyed the length and strength she felt in her body from pilates. Kristin decided to become certified and completed a classical comprehensive teacher training program through second generation teacher Marcie Callen. Marcie is trained in the traditions of Joe’s elders, Lolita San Miguel and Eve Gentry. Kristin loves blending her classical training with variations, to challenge clients to think out of their comfort zone. She is happily married and a mother of two.

Fiona Bell

Fiona trained in Ballet and Contemporary dance with both the Royal Ballet and Art Educational Schools in London UK. Fiona then went on to have a busy and successful 15 year career working with Ballet companies across UK and Europe, music videos, TV, & West End Theater credits. She started her Pilates journey in the early 1980’s after ankle surgery and turned to the Pilates method to aid in her recovery. During this time Fiona trained and worked with Gordon Thomson, co-founder of Body Control Pilates, teaching private and group sessions at Pineapple Dance Studio Covent Garden and later at the South Kensington Pineapple Studio. These were among the very first Pilates studios to open in London, before Pilates became a household name and marketed to the fitness industry. Fiona certified through both the RSA and PEA examination boards, fully comprehensive 12 month programs covering personal training, group exercise, anatomy and physiology. Over a 30 year dancing and teaching career Fiona has worked with actors, musicians, rock stars, dancers, opera singers and everyone in between. She has always been passionate about helping her students attain their very best whether in a dance or Pilates studio.

Since moving to the USA in 1995 Fiona has been teaching Pilates and advanced ballet at the Chautauqua Regional Ballet School, Linda Dies Dance Express Company, co-directed and choreographed two full length ballets for the Allegheny Regional Dance Theater Youth Company, private and group Pilates classes for individual clients, Jamestown NY School district staff wellness program and student skaters at Jamestown Ice Arena.

Fiona has continued to study and stay current with trends and changes in the fitness industry, she believes classical Pilates has endured, as it’s the perfect balance between strength and flexibility…coming only second to her other favorite exercise – a ballet class!
