Sally Putt

Sally Putt first began Pilates in 2009.  As an active person and former athlete, she was interested in an exercise program that would not aggravate knee and lower back injuries caused by gymnastics and running.  Sally has an engineering background and the attention to details and control in Pilates immediately resonated with her as both a student and teacher, and she began the process to become comprehensively certified. She enjoys helping others experience the positive changes that Pilates can make to the body and mind.

Fiona Bell

Fiona trained in Ballet and Contemporary dance with both the Royal Ballet and Art Educational Schools in London UK. Fiona then went on to have a busy and successful 15 year career working with Ballet companies across UK and Europe, music videos, TV, & West End Theater credits. She started her Pilates journey in the early 1980’s after ankle surgery and turned to the Pilates method to aid in her recovery. During this time Fiona trained and worked with Gordon Thomson, co-founder of Body Control Pilates, teaching private and group sessions at Pineapple Dance Studio Covent Garden and later at the South Kensington Pineapple Studio. These were among the very first Pilates studios to open in London, before Pilates became a household name and marketed to the fitness industry. Fiona certified through both the RSA and PEA examination boards, fully comprehensive 12 month programs covering personal training, group exercise, anatomy and physiology. Over a 30 year dancing and teaching career Fiona has worked with actors, musicians, rock stars, dancers, opera singers and everyone in between. She has always been passionate about helping her students attain their very best whether in a dance or Pilates studio.

Since moving to the USA in 1995 Fiona has been teaching Pilates and advanced ballet at the Chautauqua Regional Ballet School, Linda Dies Dance Express Company, co-directed and choreographed two full length ballets for the Allegheny Regional Dance Theater Youth Company, private and group Pilates classes for individual clients, Jamestown NY School district staff wellness program and student skaters at Jamestown Ice Arena.

Fiona has continued to study and stay current with trends and changes in the fitness industry, she believes classical Pilates has endured, as it’s the perfect balance between strength and flexibility…coming only second to her other favorite exercise – a ballet class!

Sue Williams

Sue Williams, a native of the UK, spent a number of years working in the clothing and software industries with constant travel, She began taking Pilates lessons to strengthen her lower back caused by an injury. After experiencing the many benefits of Pilates including improved posture, flexibility and strength, Sue wanted to share this with others and teaching was the natural progression which lead her to becoming Comprehensively Certified (600 +) through Power Pilates of New York. As an on-going student of the discipline herself Sue loves the new challenges that Pilates constantly presents and enjoys sharing the rewards and experiences with her students. She is constantly looking to improve her own practice and teaching skills and frequently attends continuing education in the Classical Pilates method.

Maria Cossu

Maria’s lifelong passion for physical fitness lead her to find the benefit of Pilates for her own movement and fitness. Maria has always had an appreciation for the balance of strength and flexibility. After years of tight shoulders, she found the openings, strength and flexibility in her body that she was looking for. Pilates helped her alleviate her own joint and muscle problems.  Her quest for a deeper understanding led her to receiving her Mat I, Mat II and Systems Level I Certification in the Power Pilates method in 2019.   Maria continues her training in Systems Level II.

Her diverse background (undergraduate in Physics and a Masters in Information Science) enables her to understand the body and its motion through space and time and the effects of energy and force.  For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

As a teacher of movement, Maria strengthens the importance of our physical constraints to movement and ways that we can maximize force production in the body for improved ease and efficiency.

It continues to amaze her how the disciplines of the Pilates method carry over in all aspects of her life.  As a mother of twin young children, Maria understands how challenging it can be to find time for exercise (especially when sleep-deprived) and has found Pilates a gentle and effective way to recover from childbirth and those early postpartum months. The carry-over into everyday life and even the weight-lifting that has been a huge part of her lifestyle the last few years is what makes Maria a lover of Pilates and she is excited to share this with you.
